Expert Tree Lighting Services
Orlando Tree Lighting understands that a mature live oak carries the holidays differently than any palm: broad limbs, deep shade, and hanging Spanish moss all change how it should be lit. That's why live oak tree Christmas lights in areas like College Park and Maitland are designed limb by limb, following the tree's branching pattern so each major limb is outlined and the canopy glows from within. We use lightweight commercial-grade LED strands secured with tree-safe methods that never nail, drill, or girdle a limb, and we place each strand to work with the Spanish moss rather than against it. An old oak is a permanent part of the property, and we treat it that way from the first ladder placement to the last strand removed. Book an oak walk-through and we'll assess each limb before we quote.

Major limbs are outlined from trunk to tip, so the tree's natural branching shape shows clearly against the night sky.

Vertical strands drop from upper limbs at even intervals, creating a glowing curtain of light beneath the canopy for guests.

Strands sit on the branch, not through the hanging moss, so the oak keeps its natural, familiar look by day.
From Orlando to Winter Park to Windermere, we know local yards, Florida weather, neighborhood rules and landscape (literally & figuratively.)
Trees are all we light. From tall palms to spreading live oaks, we know how to wrap trunks, light canopies, and protect your trees along the way.
We handle the design, installation, maintenance, takedown, and storage, so you never have to climb a ladder or untangle a single string.

Installed properly, no. LED strands run cool, we use tree-safe attachment with nothing nailed or stapled, and we avoid tight wrapping on limbs that will keep thickening. An oak that is stressed, diseased, or carrying dead limbs should be checked by a certified arborist first.
We avoid weaving strands through it. Moss is a living plant that tangles easily and shifts in the wind, so we anchor lights to the limbs and keep the moss looking natural.
We outline the structural limbs and prioritize the sides that face the street or entrance, since lighting an entire mature canopy can take thousands of bulbs. We can phase the design over more than one season.
Most tree ordinances regulate pruning and removal, not lighting, but rules vary by city and HOA. If you're unsure, check with yours. We're happy to share our installation method for review.
We don't recommend it. Oak limbs keep growing, and strands left in place for months can rub or bind as they thicken. Taking them down after the holidays also keeps the tree looking natural the rest of the year.
